HOW TO ROCK THE BALL SEASON! – ALL TIPS, TRICKS & RULES
In a cozy and super romantic atmosphere I turned into a real princess. Put it into imagination: a clothes rail full of ball gowns – one more beautiful than the other. A styling lounge, some dance classes to perfect the Viennese Waltz, an etiquette course to make sure I command all the „rules“ I have to consider if I plan to attend a ball in the near future, and then, to top it all once again, a four course dinner in a lovely vintage location took place at Mezzanine 7. – What an experience!
THE ETIQUETTE | All the DO’S & NO-GO’S
I have to admit, the ball etiquette course was one of the most exciting experiences this evening because there were a lot of rules I had never heard about. Just like, that you should make sure to wear nude tights underneath your dress because otherwise you’ll be titled an „easy girl“. It’s a rule that has its roots in the past and remained until today. Or rather, within very conservative societies.
Another important rule is the one, that your dress must be floor-length and your high heels closed – although you have to put this much more into consideration when attending a real ball which is not comparable to a prom ball or the famous Viennese Ball – which is much more a „Society Ball“. In this case, I think, you have much more freedom with your outfit choice. Because – strictly speaking – according to the „etiquette-codex“ you also have to wear gloves. And let’s be honest, how stupid would it look like if one would show up with gloves at a school’s prom? ;P If you want to know more about the ball etiquette, and all the DO’S & DONT’S, Zalando summed it up HERE.
THE DACNE CLASS | Traditional Walzer
One more highlight this day: the dance classes we. However, due to the fact I have already received a Walzer crash course last year, I was a little bit experienced. Additionally, when I was a kid, my parents went to dace classes where I was also learned some fancy moves by only watching. ;P Nevertheless, it was so much fun with the blogger girls Nina, Laura & Dea and Sonja to be able to hit the dance floor with a classic dance.
THE BALL STYLING
I’ve already told you a little bit about the DO’s & DONT’s when it comes to your styling for a real ball: the dress must be floor-length, don’t miss the thighs and the elbow length gloves and last but not least, make sure to wear closed footwear. For all the other balls out there, I would say that there no limits set in principle. In this case I would probably prefer a midi-dress instead but of course this is a lot more a matter of taste. HERE you can find a nice selection of ball gowns if you’re looking after one.
And if you scroll down, you will see all my favorite pieces and also a beautiful selection of accessories – which is definitely also a MUST when attending a ball.

Wow sieht wirklich Hammer aus. Total glamourös. <3 xx Deea&Laura

Mir gings genau so. :)
