Hair-Tutorials for the Wiesn
Since the Oktoberfest is around the corner, I guess it’s time for some outfit inspiration, right? :D Okay, actually there is still plenty of time until the start of this special event in Munich, but when I look into some online shops who sell the so called „Dirndl“, I can see that if you’re not quick enough, you won’t find any beautiful one last minute as they are so popular that they are almost sold out. Wuahh! Yess, they are THAT popular and to be honest, I’m not surprised about it as I’m a huge dirnd-fan too. :D
I don’t know why, but I’m so in love with all those traditional costumes as I’m totally into pieces with historical backgrounds. – The story they tell, the feeling they spread and damn, how beautiful are they? So inspiring and fascinating how fashion has changed trough the years. Isn’t it? While in the past it was fashionable wearing traditional dresses with hundreds of details, with bodices, blouses, full skirts and aprons, today, everything is different. Not to mention that all those traditional costumes were made by hand. – Incredible!
For this years Oktoberfest I would die to wear a traditional dirndl from Sportalm Kitzbühel as all their designs are inspired by historical models and to my opinion, this is exactly what a dirndl should be like. All these dresses should spread a vintage- and country-like spirit and let us live in the past, even just for a short moment. :-) By the way: you can find their collection on trachtenshop.de .
But our dress shouldn’t be the only thing we pay attention to. The make-up, just like our hairdo is at least as important. Reason enough to share some hairdo inspirations and tutorials with you. :-) Oh, and just for your info, dare to wear these hair styles in your every day life. You can easily set a statement with them. :-) Let’s go:
Guide for a classic braided hair wreath:
This might be the most popular hairdo on Munich’s Oktoberfest and luckily it’s not as difficult as it sounds like. :-) First you need to divide your hair into two sections on the back of your head. After that, easily braid each of them and make them a little bit loose and messy. Then you just need to turn both of them to the other side like shown in the pictures so that it looks like a wreath. The last step: fix it with some bobby-pins and hairspray. :-)
Sidewards Fishbone Hair Baird – Step by Step Guid
Somehow I like the fishbone technic more than the classic braided one. :-) Isn’t it more enterprising and unique?
After you’ve brushed your hair to the side, you need to separate it in two sections. Afterwards you have to take a tiny wisp of hair and add it to the other section on the other side. Then, take a tiny wisp of hair from the other section where you’ve already added a wisp and repeat this process. – Do this two steps until you’ve reached the end of your hair and tie it with a pigtail band.
Romantic Braided-Pony-Highlight
For this hairdo you need to parting your hair to the side and fix it with a bobby-pin. Take a tiny wisp of hair from the side and braid it to a classic pigtail. After you have finished this step, make your braided pigtail look a little bit messy. Then you need to fix it along your sidewards pigtail and fix it with some bobby-pins. Make sure there is no space between your braided pigtail and your bangs so that it looks like your braided in each other. :-)

Toller Blog.
