For hardly any other outfit, which I have ever published on my blog, I received so many messages, as for this one. Questions such as „If you ever sell this outfit, please keep me in mind!“ or, „Do you have any tips on how I could put together a similar outfit?“ reached me so many times. And I must admit, yes, it’s definitely one of my all-time favorite outfits that I wore in my entire life. Pieces which couldn’t emphasize my personality better. This incredible beautiful details and applications from jacket to high heels – a real dream I must confess!
The fact that you guys liked this outfit so much, was reason enough to make me look for a similar combination to copy as you probably won’t find exactly the same pieces in the stores again. As well I thought about making a small guide to make it easier for you in the future, to copy a beautiful outfit which you’ve discovered on the internet or anywhere else.
The first thing to always ask yourself when looking for a smiliar outfit combination is, what is typical for the look you want to copy? Does it have any specific characteristics? Maybe some of an era? And is it casual, sporty or elegant? In my outfit, for example, you can see, a lot of baroque elements, creamy white items and a lot of gold details on my jacket, pants and high heels which are so typical for this era. With this question you’ve answered the most important one, because the whole outfit combination and selection is based on it. So, what we learn is, that you don’t have to find exactly the same items to copy a look like this or any other.
To summarize, the basic color of my outfit is creamy white, it’s elegant and contains baroque elements and golden ornaments and details. The shirt that I wear under my jacket, is important as well, because the descending seam is also very characteristic for this period of time. If we take Mozart’s outfits in mind, we can see a lot of ruffles on his shirt with a slightly longer seam. THIS blouse would be the perfect base for this look, on which you can build on you outfit very well. And who dears it a little bit more extreme, should go for THIS adorable blouse with mega ruffles on the collar. The second option probably would be a better choice in combination with a blazer, cause the first one would look pretty awesome without, too. :-)
As already mentioned, to copy a look, you don’t have to look for exact identical pieces but create a look similar in style. The chance that you will ever find my jacket again, is extremely low, therefor simply pay attention to the striking features or – in this case – on what makes this jacket so unique: It’s creamy white, it has golden applications and white ornaments. If you don’t find any blazer in this form, no need to worry, as it’s also okay if you move some of these details to any other part of your outfit. In other words, to look for accessories, for a bag, or maybe a bottom with some of these characteristics. THIS jacket for example would probably look most similar to mine, but I think that I would still go for THIS one. Obviously, the absolute opposite of the one in my pictures. It’s minimalistic, long and has no applications and I still think it would be the perfect alternative and reinterpretation in combination with this ruffled-collar-shirt, of my look.
All the typical elements which are missing, I would pick up in the rest of my outfit. In other words, I will look for any bottoms or accessories, which have some baroque details to create a balance.
No matter if in the form of a bag, earrings or a statement necklace, everything is allowed. Any Headpiece would be a great alternative too, weather a hair band or any pretty barrette. In this case I would probably direct the focus on my bag as it might be the easiest way to copy this look if it has any golden and baroque details such as THIS wooden bag with purple floral details. Sorry, but I can’t find any subtable adjective that could ever describe this beauty!! So so amazing!
And what about matching shoes? Well, not so easy I must confess but you can never go wrong with classic timeless black high heels like THESE.
And this is how the reinterpretation of my outfit would look like the end:
I’ve exchanged the jacket, with a lot of golden details and applications with a very minimalistic one. The matching pants I’ve replaced with a skirt which color looks very similar to the blazer. This time all the baroque details can be found in my ruffled shirt and all the accessories instead which is absolutely enough as the new version of my baroque look is at least as detailed and majestic as the previous one, isn’t it? :-)
